Welcome

I have been pretty busy recently working on a book of short poems by William Wordsworth, illustrated by contemporary Lakeland artists

This pocket-sized book has been co-authored by another Green Door artist, Andy Wild. It is one of his abstract paintings that appears on the front cover

I left Corfu a year ago and moved back to the UK. Since then, this beautiful part of England has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage status as an area of exceptional beauty and cultural importance

My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky...

Wordsworth, of course, was one of the first to appreciate the special qualities of this area of lakes and mountains

His poems celebrated the region and its often humble inhabitants

Today, millions of tourists visit Grasmere, Windermere, Ambleside and the mountains and picturesque valleys surrounding these country towns where Wordsworth, Coleridge and other Romantic poets of the early 19th century once lived and worked

This is also Beatrix Potter territory - but that's another story!

The brief for our book of Wordsworth's best-loved, short poems was for fellow Lakeland artists to select one of twenty poems and illustrate it in their own style and medium

My second illustration was a 'dreamscape' collage, inspired by Wordsworth's poem that begins:

A slumber did my spirit seal...

The book will be published in the UK on Wednesday 6 September, 2017

It features eighteen professional artists whose work I will explore here once the book is available in the shops or online.

It retails at £7 ($9, 7.70 Euros) + postage. If you would like a copy, then contact me at:
