NEW WORK ON VIEW

Today  (Saturday, 18th February) sees the opening of an exhibition of the work of regional artists associated with GREEN DOOR

I have two works on view, including this large landscape:

Fragmented Landscape - Mike Healey

It is always difficult to find new ways to treat landscape. My solution here is to create a landscape that is fragmented and falling apart!

I have used bone-black powder mixed with water and applied with brush and palette knife. The white spaces are created using gesso

As usual in my work, shapes are based on close observation of rock and plant forms, freely interpreted to give the illusion of a hugely complex landscape under stress!

The  Green Door exhibition continues at the Kendal Museum, Station Road, Kendal, (UK) until 14th April, 2107
